Note: Many of the pictures in this blog series are taken from the internet, because we had our camera stolen halfway through the trip.
The Catamayo church has some needs: a speaker system, because the small room where they hold the service can't hold all the congregation, and the ones outside can't hear the preaching inside. A fan, because there is no ventilation in the room. And a motorcycle, because the pastor has no mode of transportation.
Leo takes us to a bunch of shops around Loja where we look at prices for these items. We decide to donate some money to cover some of these needs, though what we give isn't quite enough to cover all of them. (Email me if you want to help with a tax-deductible gift: amberfer at comcast dot net.)
We see a host of misspelled signs. Here's one.

Three years ago, I met a man learning English, and we kept in touch through Facebook. Now I'm excited to see Alfredo again and introduce Joe to him. We meet him at a little coffee/dessert bar with delicious and pretty treats! Mine looks way more appetizing than Joe's, though.
We have great conversation with Alfredo and then invite him to church tomorrow so we can see him again.
